Our Fabulous Staff Team

We are SO lucky to have such a wonderful, dynamic and creative team of practitioners who bring energy, expertise, and heart to everything they do.

Tabitha Kinyanjui
'Mbegu' Lead Facilitator
(1-4 year olds)

Tabby has been with us since the very beginning of Chipukizi in 2022 and has played a pivotal role in shaping the heart of our ethos. She strikes the perfect balance between firm and fair—gently guiding our younger children with clear, consistent boundaries while remaining warm, approachable, and deeply nurturing. We truly couldn’t imagine Chipukizi without her!

Tabby holds a Teacher's Certificate in Early Childhood Education and is currently working towards a Diploma in Education.

Hagger Njeri
'Miche'  Reception Lead Facilitator
(4-5 year olds)

Hagger joined Chipukizi in September 2024 and immediately took the lead in pioneering our new Primary School for our 4+ year olds. She embraced this fresh challenge with grace and dedication, laying down a solid framework of inquiry-led projects, perfectly in balance with our child-led, play-based ethos. Thanks to her efforts, we have established an excellent foundation upon which to continue expanding and enriching our primary school.

Hagger holds a Bachelor of Education from Kenyatta University and brings with her experience from other well-known British Curriculum international schools.

Charlene Duron
'Miche'  Years 1+ 2 Lead Facilitator
(5-7 year olds)

Charlene joins our team in September 2025, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome her aboard. A creative and dynamic educator, she places her students’ holistic wellbeing at the heart of her practice. Specialising in numeracy, Charlene consistently weaves imaginative, hands‑on elements into her plans and we feel this will beautifully complement our transdisciplinary approach to our curriculum. We look forward to the energy she’ll bring to Chipukizi!

Charlene also has previous experience teaching the British Curriculum and is a Bachelor of Education (Kenyatta University).

Support Facilitators

We simply couldn’t function without our incredible support team. They work hand‑in‑hand with our lead facilitators—reinforcing learning by providing one‑to‑one support, helping to maintain warm yet consistent boundaries, and ensuring every child feels safe and valued. Their unwavering learning support and pastoral care, delivered in true Chipukizi style, means they’re always on hand to listen, guide, and nurture socially, emotional and academically. From helping settle a worried child at drop‑off, to quietly managing classroom routines, they are the steady heartbeat of our school—complementing our teachers and ensuring our ethos shines through every moment of the day.

Founder/Director
Bethany Aquarone
supported by Mike Diesbecq

Beth founded Chipukizi in 2022 in response to a deeply personal need: to create a developmentally appropriate, future-focused education option for her own family.

She felt that many of the practices still common in traditional classrooms are no longer fit for purpose in a rapidly changing world — and often contradict what we now understand about neuroscience, psychology, and child development. And so began Chipukizi...

To her delight, Chipukizi has since grown into a thriving school community, serving over 20 families from across the region.

Beth holds a Master’s degree in Psychology and a second Master’s in Education & Educational Leadership, specialising in outdoor education. She is an experienced teacher, having taught in both the UK state system and other international schools in Kenya.
