Our Story...

The start of something special

Established in 2022, Chipukizi set out with a simple intention: to create an educational environment that honours childhood, embraces the future, and meets the real needs of families in Naivasha.

What started as a small homeschooling group — born from the need for a high-quality, geographically accessible, and financially feasible education option for young families in the area — has since blossomed into something much larger: a thriving community of like-minded families, passionate about nurturing the next generation in a way that truly prepares them for the world they will inherit.

Our Principles

What we do

At Chipukizi, we embrace hands-on, play-based, child-centred learning. Our school is grounded in the belief that education should equip children not just with knowledge, but with the curiosity, adaptability, resilience, and creativity they’ll need to navigate and thrive in an ever-evolving world. We believe in learning through doing, exploring, and inquiry.

Why we do it

Recognising that many traditional educational practices no longer serve the needs of children in a rapidly changing world — and often stand in contrast to what we now understand from neuroscience, psychology, and child development — we have set out to create an approach rooted in the most current research and responsive to the realities of what children- and the world- need today.

How we do it

To this effect, we centre the British Curriculum around International Baccalaureate-inspired, transdisciplinary themes and projects that address real-world issues through a bottom-up approach. As we grow, we remain committed to our core belief: that children should be active participants in their learning — developing holistically across academic, emotional, social, and creative domains, with no single aspect valued above another.

Learning Spaces

Big spaces for big thinking

The majority of our sessions take place outdoors, supported by semi-permanent, multifunctional learning spaces. Our site is dynamic and adaptable, allowing children to move, explore, use their bodies, and engage hands-on.

Our small remote-working area is also perfect for parents who prefer not to travel back and forth during sessions — nurturing a warm, community-oriented environment for everyone on site.

Rates

Not for profit

We offer a comprehensive fee structure, commensurate with running costs and designed to support families from a range of socio-economic backgrounds.

A community-subsidised Bursary Fund is also available to assist eligible families with fees. Our goal is to maintain a 60:40 ratio of full-pay to subsidised places by the end of 2026.

Next steps

2026...and beyond

We’re excited to be expanding into Years 1 and 2 this coming September (2025), marking the next phase of our organic growth.

Within the next few months, we will also be moving into a new, forever home — a space that will allow us to continue to grow sustainably.

Looking ahead, we plan to expand upwards year by year, offering all primary year groups by 2029.
